此镇号称有千年历史.但历史上真正发达是明清时期.写< <儒林外传>>的吴敬梓据说在此镇当过教书先生.曾作为芜湖米市的一个重要转运码头.出过一些较大的商人.河对岸即是无为县.
其名为运漕,即”漕运”倒过来.解放后渐渐没落.此建筑物的历史不知道.估计至少五十年以上的历史还是有的.
